The KTU B.Tech/M.Tech students will get about two months gap from the end of examination and start of next semester classes which has to utilised for training courses or internships. Through Internship programs we encourage better interaction of studnets with industry. This will have great bearing on the engineering education resulting in exposure of industrial atmosphere to engineering students and subsequent placement of young graduating engineers in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and opening up of Indian economy to outside world, competition among industries has become stiff. To solve their engineering problems, they look up now to engineering institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students for jobs in multinational companies, by exposing them to newer technologies and engineering methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and the academics.
Internship will provide students with valuable practical experience while in college, by applying their theoretical knowledge to actual customer problems. This will impart hands-on technical, business and soft skills to students in a professional environment and also give the company access to a potential workforce.
