The Internet of Things (IoT) primarily refers to a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, objects, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers(UIDs) and has the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction.IOT is now changing the way we live. With increase in the number of devices getting connected to the internet, the demand for skills in this area is very high.Using a Raspberry Pi computer and a DHT sensor, we can develop an electronic device that streams temperature and humidity data over the internet. One can program the system in such a way that if some variation in the preset condition occur, the device will automatically send an email notification. Internet of Things, or IoT in short, is the concept of making devices and objects smarter by linking them to the internet. IoT has promising applications in everyday life like in smart homes, wearable devices, smart cities, connected cars and more.The Raspberry Pi is a series of small single-board computers.The original model became much more popular than it was meant to be, selling outside its target market for uses such as robotics.
IoT expert is one of the most demanding career prospect in the country. Knowledge of Raspberry Pi programming will be an added advantage. One need to conduct background research on existing IoT-related applications and delineate industry best practices. It is their duty to analyse the functional requirements specification of each application and design the applications. Implementation of the applications according to approved designs is another challenging job for such professionals. A career focusing candidate must be able to develop native mobile applications on iOS and/or Android as well as one or more IoT development platforms.
